Pinebank (third) is built.

Architect: Sturgis & Brigham. Designed in the Ruskinian Gothic style and built for Edward Perkins, the brick home is located on the site of its two predecessors on the shore of Jamaica Pond. After the family leaves, the building is acquired by the city in 1892 and subsequently used as an administrative office by the Boston Parks Department. A terrace by Edmund March Wheelwright is added in 1895. The building becomes the home of the Children’s Museum from July 1913 to March 1936. It is used again by the Parks Department and then by the Pinebank Center for the Arts in 1975. Closed after another fire in 1978. the building is demolished in January 2007.
